Hill Tabs Career-High 22 Points Against Trevecca

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican women's basketball team finished the week by hosting the Trojans of Trevecca Nazarene on Saturday afternoon. A dominate offense from the Trojans was too much for the Panthers, falling 101-80.

  • Leading the way for the Black and Gold was La'Sonja Hill (Cincinnati, Ohio) with a career high of 22 points. Hill went 9-13 from the field. The freshman added three rebounds, three assists, and three steals.
  • Following her was senior Gabby Stare (Newark, Ohio) with 15 points on the afternoon. Stare matched Hill with three rebounds while going 7-12 from the floor.
  • Brynn Mullet (Berlin, Ohio) netted three from deep to grab 14 points in the game. She shot 50 percent from the field while having two assists and two steals.
  • On the boards, Jenna Shackleford (Newark, Ohio) led the team with seven rebounds and had nine points. Following her was Shannon Wojciak (Medina, Ohio) with six boards and seven points.
How It Happened
  • Shackleford won the jump ball, resulting in an opening layup for Hill to give the Black and Gold a 2-0 lead. Over the first three minutes, ODU went ahead 8-2 before TNU went on a 23-8 run to end the quarter, giving them a 25-16 lead.
  • In the second quarter, the Panthers cut it to four with an 8-0 run. The Trojans bounced back and grew their lead to 19 at the intermission, 57-38.
  • In the third quarter, Mullet netted six points while Wojciak grabbed five points, but Trevecca continued to roll, taking an 83-55 lead heading into the final period.
  • The Black and Gold outscored the Purple and White 25-18 with 10 points form Hill. The Panthers couldn't come back from their deficit, dropping the game 101-80.
