COLUMBUS, Ohio – This week, the Ohio Dominican women's basketball team host Hillsdale College for their senior night on Thursday.
Nia Johnson and
Bailey Cummings will be recognized ahead of the game on Thursday evening.
About Ohio Dominican
The Black and Gold enter the week with a 7-18 overall record on the year and a 4-13 mark in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. The Panthers are coming off a 1-1 week after defeating Lake Erie on the road and falling to Northwood at home.
Senior,
Gabby Stare (Newark, Ohio) led the way averaging 20.5 points a game. The guard had a double-double on Thursday with 28 points and 10 rebounds. She followed with 13 points against Northwood on Saturday.
Following her on the road was
Brynn Mullet (Berlin, Ohio) with 16 points. The junior added six rebounds, four assists, and two steals. At home, Mullet snagged seven points against the Timberwolves.
Fellow guard,
Madelyn Fearon (Greenville, Ohio) was the last Panther to net double figures over the week, securing 13 points on Thursday evening. Fearon led the team with five assists and matched Mullet with six rebounds and two steals at Lake Erie.
Freshman,
La'Sonja Hill (Cincinnati, Ohio) grabbed 17 points on the week with nine at Lake Erie and eight against Northwood. Hill had five total steals, placing her second in the conference in total steals with 55, and third in steals per game, averaging 2.4.
About Hillsdale
The Chargers come into Columbus on Thursday with a 14-10 overall record and a 10-6 record in the G-MAC, placing them in seventh in the standings. Hillsdale most recently went 1-1, defeating Cedarville but dropping their contest against Ashland.
Leading the way for HC is senior Sydney Milles with 14.1 points and 8.6 rebounds a game. Following her is Lauren McDonald with 12.8 points and Caitlin Splain with 12.5 points a game. McDonald hands out a team high of 3.1 assists a game while Kendall McCormick averages 2.2 steals a game.
As a team, Hillsdale averages 65.3 points a game while allowing their opponents to average 66.1 points. The Chargers are shooting 39.2 percent from the floor, 29.5 percent from behind the arc, and 72.8 percent from the free throw line.
Hillsdale continues to lead the all-time series against Ohio Dominican by posting a 13-11 record. When inside Alumni Hall, the two are even at six wins apiece.
