INDIANAPOLIS, IN - On Friday afternoon, the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) announced its women's basketball postseason honors, with an Ohio Dominican Panther earning recognition.
Following an impactful junior campaign in the Black and Gold uniform, Newark, Ohio native Jenna Shackleford has earned Second Team conference honors.
A force in the paint, Shackleford recorded 16 double-digit scoring performances across 25 games. She saved her best for last, dropping a season-high 23 points in the finale against Lake Erie College.
Shackleford started every contest for Ohio Dominican this year, logging 678 minutes and a career-high 315 points. She led the way with 12.6 points and 4.8 rebounds per game while shooting .460 from the field. A consistent threat at the stripe, she knocked down 70-of-99 free throws (.707). She finished the year with 121 rebounds, 47 assists, and 13 blocks.
"Jenna stepped into a huge role for our team this year," Coach Brianna Sims said. "Her ability to make plays for herself and teammates allowed her to be a threat offensively and gave her teammates confidence to play around her."
