Box Score 2 HARROGATE, Tenn. – For the second time this month, the Ohio Dominican softball team traveled to Tennessee for an invitational hosted by Lincoln Memorial. The Panthers split the day with a 3-2 loss to #2 Grand Valley State and a 4-1 win over Lock Haven.

Senior,
Alexis Stevens (Marion, Ohio) secured hits in both games, both being doubles. The infielder led with three runs batted in, accounting for one run and having a stolen base.
Kaleigh Golden (Thornville, Ohio) and
Emily Walker (Plain City, Ohio) both had two hits in the second game. Walker had two doubles and an RBI while Golden accounted for a run.
Alli Madden (Cincinnati, Ohio) tabbed singles in both contests. Madden picked up two stolen bases on the day.
Kendrick Sterling (Crothersville, Ind.) notched an RBI single against the Bald Eagles.
Gradute,
Addison Smodilla (Terre Haute, Ind.) started in the opening game. Smodilla pitched 6.0 innings and struck out seven Lakers.
Marlee Jacobs (Plain City, Ohio) netted five strikeouts in the second game, allowing only one run.Â
Game One
The Black and Gold came out strong against the #2 Lakers, collecting a Stevens double in the opening inning to score Golden. GVSU answered in the bottom of the frame with two hits to tie it at 1-all.
An inning later, Grand Valley extended their lead to 3-1 with a leadoff walk and a double. GVSU snagged two hits in the bottom of the third followed by a Madden single in the top of the fourth, but everyone was stranded. In Ohio Dominican's last at bat,
Makaila Moses (Lancaster, Ohio) secured a pinch hit single but was left on first base. The Panthers dropped the opening game, 3-2.Â
Game Two
The Panthers scored four runs in the bottom of the opening inning off doubles from Stevens and Walker, and a pair of singles from Golden and Sterling. Madden and Golden tabbed singles in the bottom frame of the third and fourth inning but were left on base.
Lock Haven string together two hist in the top of the fifth to plate a run, making it 4-1. Walker added another double in the bottom of the fifth. Both teams remained scoreless to end the game, giving ODU a 4-1 victory.
