TIFFIN, Ohio - The Ohio Dominican Panthers men's golf team traveled to northwest Ohio to participate in the Kyle Ryman Memorial on Monday (Oct. 7) and Tuesday (Oct. 8).
The Panthers made a push on moving day to finish third of the 12 teams competing at Mohawk Golf Course. ODU sat fifth after rounds of 296 and 298 on the first day. The Panthers shot a 2-under 286 on Tuesday to jump two spots to the last spot on the podium. Overall, Ohio Dominican tallied a 54-hole total of 880 - the fifth lowest score in program history.
The Black and Gold led all teams with 49 birdies in the tournament.
Senior
Jeremiah Bane was third overall in the final standings with a pair of rounds under par. Bane finished 3-under 213 with rounds of 2-over 74, 3-under 69 and 2-under 70. He was tied for the lead in the birdie category with 13 over the 54 holes.
Senior
Yadhu Urs finished in a seventh place tie, five strokes behind Bane at 2-over 218. He started the tournament with a 3-under 69 before tallying a 4-over 76 on Monday afternoon. His final round was a 1-over 73 to get him into seventh place. Urs was tied for sixth with the second-most birdies (12).
Graduate student
Jack Lindgren shot the lowest round of the tournament in round three. Lindgren kicked off the tournament with rounds of 6-over 78 and 5-over 77 prior to a majestic 5-under 67 on Tuesday. His final total of 222 (+6) tied him for 17th place. His round of 67 was the fourth lowest single round in program history. Lindgren scored nine birdies for the tournament, tied for 11th. Seven of those birdies came in his 67 round on Tuesday.
Juniors
Bryce Cobb and
Nash Linder were tied for 36th place with identical scores of 231 (+15). Cobb bounced back from an opening round of 80 with rounds of 3-over 75 and 4-over 76. Linder started with a 5-over 77 with an 80 in round two. His final round of 2-over 74 moved him nine spots in the standings.
Graduate student
Jackson Parnell ended the event one stroke behind Cobb and Linder at 232 (+16). His first round was 80 with back-to-back rounds of 4-over 76. Parnell and his teammate Cobb each made eight birdies for the event.
Senior
Tyler Andersen had a best round of 3-over 75 in the first round, then shooting an 80 and 7-over 79 in the second and third rounds, respectively. He was one of ten players to earn an eagle in the tournament.
Ohio Dominican will continue the Fall season with the Davenport Panther Invitational this weekend on Saturday (Oct. 12) and Sunday (Oct. 13).
