AUGUSTA, Mich. - The Ohio Dominican Panthers women's golf team finished up the Fall portion of the 2024-25 schedule with a return trip to Michigan over the weekend. The Panthers competed at the Davenport Panther Invitational on Saturday (Oct. 12) and Sunday (Oct. 13).
Ohio Dominican finished eighth of the 13 teams in the team standings, totaling 637 (+61) for the two rounds. The first round was a 320 (+32) before Sunday's final round came to be a 317 (+29). Overall as a team, ODU had one eagle, 13 birdies and 88 pars.
Junior
Sydney Devore had the best finish for the Panthers as she was tied for 19th place. She turned in rounds of 5-over 77 and 6-over 78, compiling an overall score of 155 (+11).
Freshmen
Maria Briceno Vargas and
Marissa Cline were tied for 28th place as they were four strokes behind Devore at 159 (+15). Briceno had respective rounds of 7-over 79 and 8-over 80 while Cline scored 9-over 81 and 6-over 78 in her event. Cline led the Panthers in the birdie category with five of them in play.
Senior
Ellyn Deibel was +21 with a 165 in 42nd place. Her best round of the weekend was an 82 on Sunday after an 83 for Saturday's first round. She was one of three players to tally an eagle this weekend.
Sophomore
Alana Miller rounded out the Panther lineup with a 168 (+24) final score in 47th place. Miller opened the weekend with an 87 before shaving off six strokes for an 81 on Sunday.
Junior
Sarah Ochs entered play as the individual. Ochs shot rounds of 83 and 89 to total 172 (+28) in a 53rd place tie.
Ohio Dominican will resume the 2024-25 season in early March with the beginning of the Spring schedule.
