COLUMBUS, Ohio - The Ohio Dominican women's volleyball team hosted the purple Panthers of Kentucky Wesleyan tonight in Alumni Hall. The black and gold Panthers came out on top, sweeping KWC 3-0. Â
The first set started with both teams keeping an even score until Ohio Dominican took off in an attack frenzy, collecting 16 kills. ODU stayed on top the rest of the set, finalizing the score, 25-15.Â
Set two started in dominant fashion by the black and gold Panthers, taking a wide lead of 10-1 to begin. KWC returned some points back but ultimately fell to ODU, 25-10. Â
In the last set, the purple Panthers kept Ohio Dominican on their feet, trickling in a 3-point run at the end, making it 23-18. But, Ohio Dominican clutched the next two points, winning 25-18. Â
Ohio Dominican had a total of 40 kills, 45 digs and 9 aces as a team. Junior Ashley Aselage led the Black and Gold with eight kills, Grace Zinchuk behind her with seven. Setter Saige Avery secured 22 assists, seven digs and four aces. Libero Lauren Dinunzi led ODU defensively with 18 digs, also adding four assists to the win.Â
