COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican women's basketball team concluded their week with a home conference matchup against the Cavaliers of Walsh. The Panthers gritted it out and secured their first G-MAC win, downing the Cavs, 59-51.

- Three different Panthers found themselves with double figure points, led by none other than Gabby Stare (Newark, Ohio) with 15. The senior went 7-11 from the field. She added five rebounds and two steals.
- Following her was freshman La'Sonja Hill (Cincinnati, Ohio) with 14 points. The guard shot 50.0 percent from the field and went 6-10 from the charity stripe. Hill grabbed five rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
- Off the bench, Logan Pride (Twinsburg, Ohio) netted 11 points. Pride collected nine rebounds, five on the offensive end. Fellow forward, Jenna Shackleford (Newark, Ohio) was the third player to acquire five rebounds in the game. She also had eight points, and a team high of five assists. Â
How It Happened
- The Black and Gold won the jump, resulting in back-to-back layups to open the game. From there, the two traded buckets with the Maroon and Gold on top at the end of the quarter, 15-14.
- In the second quarter, the Panthers and the Cavaliers went back-and-forth, having it tied at 19-all with five minutes remaining. The Black and Gold ended on an 8-4 scoring run to take a four-point lead at the intermission.
- More of the same occurred in the third quarter until ODU snagged nine consecutive points to push their lead to 11, making it 41-30. A late layup from the Cavs made it 42-34 heading into the last 10 minutes.
- It was all Ohio Dominican in the final period as they pushed their lead to as many as 13 off a fastbreak layup from Macy Chapman (Hilliard, Ohio). The Black and Gold remained in the lead, winning their first conference game, 59-51.
