COLUMBUS, Ohio – On Thursday afternoon, the Ohio Dominican women's basketball team welcomed the Yellow Jackets of Cedarville for their second matchup of the year. The Panthers and the Jackets went back-and-forth all game with CU prevailing in the end, 61-60.

- Leading the way for the Black and Gold was Gabby Stare (Newark, Ohio) with 30 points, a season high. The senior shot 59.1 percent from the field and grabbed four rebounds and a team high of six assists and three steals.
- Following her was La'Sonja Hill (Cincinnati, Ohio) with seven points and two assists. Brynn Mullet (Berlin, Ohio) and Nelia Guice (Westerville, Ohio) netted six each. Guice snagged a career high in rebounds with eight, five defensive and three offensive.
- Mullet dished out three assists on the evening. Matching Mullet was senior, Camryn Pickerill (Seamen, Ohio). Mullet and Pickerill each secured three rebounds along with Sarah Ochs (Beavercreek, Ohio) and Jenna Shackleford (Newark, Ohio).
How It Happened
- Shackleford won the jump ball again, resulting in a Hill layup in the opening seconds of the game. From there, the two traded buckets with the Panthers ending the opening quarter on a 5-2 run to make it 12-11.
- In the second quarter, the teams went back-and-forth with no one leading more than three. Stare netted 11 of the teams 20 points to keep it tied up at 32 at the intermission.
- In the third period, Stare grabbed an earlier three pointer to put the Black and Gold in the lead, but the Yellow Jackets matched every bucket. Heading into the final ten minutes, the two were tied once again, this time at 48-all.
- In the final period, Mullet netted back-to-back three pointers to push ODU to a six-point lead with 6:37 left to play. Three consecutive layups from CU closed to gap, tying it up again.
- With two minutes left, Lydia Sweeney of Cedarville connected for a three-point play to give them the lead, but a layup form Stare swung it the other way. In the final seconds, a CU layup gave them a 61-60 lead. Mullet got a good look with two seconds to go but it just wouldn't fall. The Panthers fell 61-60.
