Late Offensive Surge Pushes Oilers Past Panthers

COLUMBUS, Ohio – On Wednesday afternoon, the Ohio Dominican women's soccer team hosted the Oilers of Findlay for a midweek conference matchup. A late offensive surge from the Oilers pushed them past the Panthers for a 1-0 victory.

The Black and Gold started things early with the first shot in the 6th minute from Bailey Sedlak (Bellbrook, Ohio), resulting in a save for the Findlay keeper. The Oilers answered with consecutive shots in the 14th and 15th minute, missing the mark.

The Orange and Black fired off four more shots before the intermission, allowing ODU goalkeeper Jadelyn McNerney (Springboro, Ohio) to snag her first save of the night. The two went into the halftime break scoreless.

UF let off two shots in the first 15 minutes, missing wide on both. In the 71st minute, Kaitlin Grady (Twinsburg, Ohio) grabbed her first save. Findlay continued to push on the offensive end, firing off two more shots before connecting with the back of the net in the 81st minute.

In the 86th minute, Devin Schoenberger (Redondo Beach, Cali.) tried to put the Panthers on the board but Oilers keeper stayed tough and added another save to her stat line. The Black and Gold had no other answer, falling to the Oilers 1-0.
