CANAL WINCHESTER, Ohio - The Ohio Dominican Panthers men's golf team sent a few members to the Capital Fall Invite for Morgan's Message on Sunday (Sept. 24) and Monday (Sept. 25) at Westchester Golf Course.
The Panthers finished first as a team with a 36-hole total of 604. ODU shot 306 in the first round and came back with the lowest team score of the second day, a 298. Four different schools competed with a total of nine teams in the standings.
Sophomore
Bryce Cobb (Anna, Ohio) was the individual medalist as he led play on Monday with a 70. He shot 73 in the final round and won the event with a total of 143, winning by five strokes.
His classmate
Kolin McKee (Sunbury, Ohio) was tied for third place as he totaled 149. McKee shot 75 on Sunday and ended with a 74 in the second round of play.
Sophomore
Nash Linder (Grove City, Ohio) ended the 36-hole slate in a tenth place tie with a 156 total. After shooting 83 in the first round, he was tied for the third-best Monday round with 73.
Graduate students
Carter Hahn (Wooster, Ohio) and
Parker Pickell (Bloomfield Village, Ohio) were separated by one stroke in the final standings within the top 25. Hahn had rounds of 78 and 84 to shoot 162 with Pickell at 163 with respective rounds of 85 and 78.
The Panthers will tee off next week at the Tiffin Kyle Ryman Memorial on Monday (Oct. 2) and Tuesday (Oct. 3).
