COLUMBUS, Ohio – On Saturday afternoon, the Ohio Dominican men's soccer team played their fifth home game in a row, this time hosting the Oilers of Findlay. After 90 intense minutes, the Panthers and the Oilers ended in a 3-3 draw.
UF got on the board first in the 4
th minute, giving them an early 1-0 lead. After a few missed shots from the Black and Gold, in the 38
th minute, senior
Mohamed Sheik (Columbus, Ohio) broke away to connect with the back of the net, tying it at 1-all.
In the final minutes of the opening half, the Oilers took a short lived 2-1 lead before
Mubelele Mhango (Blantyre, Malawi) connected with
Jack Jenkins (Canal Winchester, Ohio) to equalize the score at 2-2.
Early in the second half, keeper
Cory Pulles (Pickerington, Ohio) snagged his first save of the match. The senior added two more in the next eight minutes. With an assist already under his belt, Jenkins added a goal to his stat line to give the Black and Gold a 3-2 lead.
Evan French (Canal Winchester, Ohio) and
Ean Encarnacion (Delaware, Ohio) assisted on the goal.
Pulles added eight more saves in the second half, collecting a career-high of 11. In the final minute, the Oilers broke away from the Panthers defense, scoring with 20 seconds to go, tying it at 3-all. The contest ended in a 3-3 draw.
