COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican men's soccer team hosted McKendree University to open their 2023 campaign on Thursday evening. The Panthers fell to the Bearcats, 2-0, in a hard fought 90-minute battle.
 
Senior Jacob Gruber (Westerville, Ohio) opened the action with a shot in the 3^rd minute, resulting in a save for the McKendree keeper. The Bearcats answered with a score in the 4^th minute, giving them an early 1-0 lead.] The Panthers fired off seven more shots throughout the first half but couldn't connect with the back of the net.
 
In the second half, Veron Fongeh (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) fired off two shots, missing the mark on both. McKendree extended their lead to 2-0 off a goal in the 63^rd minute. Senior Corey Pulles (Pickerington, Ohio) snagged his only save of the night in the 72^nd minute of the match. The Black and Gold had no answer for the MU offense and fell 2-0.
 
The Panthers return to Panther Field on Sunday for a 3:00 PM contest against #23 Notre Dame College.
