Bill Blazer Memorial Top Five

Cushman Jumps to Third in Bill Blazer Memorial

URBANA, Ohio - The Ohio Dominican Panthers men's golf team concluded play at the Bill Blazer Memorial at Urbana Country Club on Saturday (April 8). 

The "A" team scored 303 in the second round to total 592 for 36 holes, finishing fifth overall. The "B" team bettered their best round of the weekend, shooting 297. The overall team jumped two spots to finish ninth with a total of 604. 

A Team

Graduate student Mack Cushman (Mechanicsburg, Ohio) gained 13 spots on Saturday with a two-under 70. Cushman ended the event with a 143 total, good enough for a third place tie. He made three birdies on Saturday. Cushman and Linder had 25 pars, most among all players. 

Sophomore Yadhu Urs (Castries, Saint Lucia) shot 79 in the second round as he finished with a 149 total. Graduate student Brett Coughlin (Washington, Illinois) ended in a tie with Urs after a 75. Coughlin had a 149 for 36 holes, tying for 22nd place. Coughlin and Parnell ended with 24 par holes of 36 possible holes. 

Senior Jacob Brownley (West Chester, Ohio) followed up his Friday round with a 79 in the next round. His total of 151 slotted him for a finish in 34th place. He was tied for the most birdies for the event, making nine in 36 holes. 

Jackson Parnell (Maineville, Ohio) tallied an 83 on Saturday, ending with a 160 for the event. 

B Team

Freshman Nash Linder (Grove City, Ohio) finished with the best B squad score and the second best on the Panthers. Linder had a 74 on Saturday, giving him 147 total. He was tied for 13th place. 

Freshman Kolin McKee (Sunbury, Ohio) and classmate Harrison Leaver (Worcester, England) were tied with a 152 total. McKee shot 73 on Saturday while Leaver scored 76, the same as his Friday score. Leaver made eight birdies for the duration of the event. McKee had seven birdies as did his teammate Urs. 

Junior Kai Squires (Dunstable, United Kingdom) improved eight strokes from Friday, going from 82 to 74 for a 156 total. 

Freshman Bryce Cobb (Anna, Ohio) rounded out the B team with an 82 round and a 161 overall score.  

Individuals

Senior Carter Hahn (Wooster, Ohio) cut four strokes from his first round to finish with a 78 on Saturday and 160 total score. 

Graduate student Parker Pickell (Bloomfield Village, Michigan) shot 85 on Saturday, totaling 164. 

Jacob Gibson scored 89 after an 84 in the first round. 

The Panthers will compete at the Wright State Invitational on Sunday (April 16) and Monday (April 17) in Springboro, Ohio.
