COLUMBUS - The Ohio Dominican Panthers outdoor track and field teams battled the weather conditions during a pair of meets in Central Ohio on Friday (April 21).
Most of the team competed at the Otterbein Twlight Meet while one Panther faced some tough competition at the Jesse Owens Memorial Classic at Ohio State.
MEN
Jacob Krous (Galena, Ohio) ran at Ohio State and despite rainy conditions and multiple weather delays, he set the ODU record in the 1500 meter run. He broke the previous record by almost one second, clocking in at 4:02.66.
Eugene Boahen won the 100 meter dash event after coming in second for the prelims. He ran a 10.93 second prelim race and then bettered his time with a 10.82 second final to finish first.
Owen Wilhelm (Sunbury, Ohio) hit 1.80 meters in his high jump event, ranking third among the competitors.
Ismael Obas (Columbus, Ohio) and
Manny Codjoe (Bolingbrook, Illinois) finished with 100 meter respective times with 11.33 and 11.64 seconds.
Five Panthers ran in the 400 meter run with four of them finishing in the same grouping.
The team of Codjoe, Boahen, Obas and Diaby finished second in the 4x100 meter relay with a time of 42.94 seconds.
Landon Latham (Westland, Michigan) tallied a 2:09.89 in the 800 meter run.
Ethan Sinning (Tipp City, Ohio) was the top mile runner for the Panthers in 18th place. He ran the race in 4:38.50 with
Edward Devaney (Lexington, Ohio) and
Dylan Taylor (Tipp City, Ohio) running personal bests. Devaney stopped the clock at 4:55.26 with Taylor at 4:56.20.
Merrick Shorter (Dublin, Ohio) was the lone ODU runner in the 5K, crossing the line in 13th place with a 15:35.02.
Tyler Hampton had a best throw of 10.27 meters in the shot put.
WOMEN
Brooke Armbrust (Grove City, Ohio) broke the 100 meter school record after she tied the mark last week. After winning the prelim rankings with a time of 12.25 seconds, she cruised past the field with a school record 12.02 second run.
G'nae Morrison (San Antonio, Texas) joined Armbrust in the 100 meter prelims with a 13.18 second time, the tenth fastest mark.
Jeralyn Strawn (Lancaster, Ohio) set a new PR in the mile with a 5:55.81 time for 10th best among the field.
Kylee Henry (Circleville, Ohio) followed in 14th place with a 6:06.91 mile time.
Jaclyn Strawn (Lancaster, Ohio) crushed her PR in the 5K with 20:10.14.
Kamryn Maxwell (Norwalk, Ohio) was 17th overall in the high jump, clearing the bar at 1.38 meters.
Kelsey Shaffer (Spencerville, Ohio) hit 4.38 meters in the long jump in 13th place.
After making their discus debuts last week, they competed in the javelin throw for the first time.

- Shannon Wojciak (Medina, Ohio): 20.40 meters, 22nd place
- Macy Chapman (Hilliard, Ohio): 16.01 meters, 28th place
- Nia Johnson (Holland, Ohio): 12.81 meters, 32nd place
- Jadelyn McNerney (Springboro, Ohio): 11.46 meters, 33rd place
Marie Pascaline Ndayishimye hit 9.31 meters in her shot put action, the 20th best distance.
Ohio Dominican will prepare fotr the conference championships with events at Walsha nd Ashland next week.
