COLUMBUS, Ohio – The season for the Ohio Dominican women's basketball team is winding down as they entire the final week of regular season competition. The Black and Gold will host Ky. Wesleyan on Thursday evening and travel to Tiffin on Saturday afternoon.
Before the contest on Thursday, the Panthers will honor their lone senior, Grace Hete (Akron, Ohio) for her four year dedication to the team and the program.
Opening Tip-Off
- Junior Gabby Stare (Newark, Ohio) continues to lead the Great Midwest Athletic Conference in points per game after collecting her third consecutive 20+ point performance over the weekend. Stare posted 25 points against the Storm and 22 points against the Timberwolves. The guard grabbed 10 rebounds in Michigan to notch her first double-double of the season.
 
- Against LEC, freshman Logan Pride (Twinsburg, Ohio) netted a career-high of 17 points, going 8-9 from the field and added seven rebounds. On the road Saturday, the forward contributed nine points and five rebounds.
 
- Fellow freshman, Macy Chapman (Hilliard, Ohio), notched 12 points against the Timberwolves. She led the team with four assists and three steals. In Thursday's contest, Chapman snagged eight rebounds, five assists, four steals, and had eight points.
 
- Guard Sarah Ochs (Beavercreek, Ohio) combined for 10 points and six assists over the two games.
 
- The Black and Gold average 64.4 points per a game while shooting 42.9 percent from the field and 38.1 percent from behind the arc, good enough for second best in the G-MAC and fourth best nationally.
 
About Ky. Wesleyan
- The Purple Panthers are 20-5 on the season and 16-2 in the conference, placing them second in the standings and grabbing a spot in the G-MAC Tournament.
 
- KWC defeated ODU back on Feb. 2 in the Owensboro Sports Center 63-38. Shiya Hoosier and Shaylee McDonald led the charge netting double-figures.
 
- Seniors, Tahlia Walton and Cali Nolot average double-digits on the season with Walton averaging 11.8 ppg and Nolot averaging 10.2 ppg.
 
- Ky. Wesleyan leads the conference in four categories including steals per a game (10.0) and turnovers forced per a game (20.4). Hoosier is second best in the conference in steals per a game averaging 2.08 and third in total steals with 52.
 
- The Purple Panthers are on a four game winning streak and hold a 2-2 record in Alumni Hall.
 
About Tiffin
- The Dragons are 6-20 overall with a 3-15 mark in the G-MAC before hosting the Findlay Oilers on Thursday and then the Panthers on Saturday.
 
- TU downed ODU in an overtime thriller inside Alumni Hall on Jan. 5, 73-69. Five players netted double-digit points with Savanah Richards and Presley Feltner leading with 16 apiece.
 
- Richards is the lone Dragon to average double-figure scoring (11.5) while Jada Tate and Kirsten Williams each average over five rebounds a game.
 
- Tiffin is currently on a four game losing streak and average 55.6 points per a game.
 
- The Dragons have won the last two meetings with the Panthers with Ohio Dominican still holding the all-time series with a 13-10 record and a 6-5 record in the Gilmor Student Center.
 
On Thursday, tip-off is set for 5:30 PM with senior day occurring before. Saturday, the game is set to begin at 1:00 PM in Tiffin.
