COLUMBUS, Ohio – On Thursday evening, the Ohio Dominican women's basketball team hosted the Hilltoppers of West Liberty for a non-conference match. The Panthers remained in the drivers seat the entire game, downing West Liberty 78-65.

- Making strides in the record book tonight was Gabby Stare (Newark, Ohio). With her 28-point performance, Stare surpassed Kacee Hockenberry (2011-15) to become the NCAA Era All-Time leading scoring at Ohio Dominican. Stare went 11-14 from the field and 6-8 from the charity stripe with a team high of six rebounds.
- Following her was Jenna Shackleford (Newark, Ohio) with 10 points and La'Sonja Hill (Cincinnati, Ohio) with nine. Shackleford had three rebounds while Hill snagged two assists and two steals.
- Both, Nelia Guice (Westerville, Ohio) and Macy Chapman (Hilliard, Ohio) netted four buckets to account for eight points each. Guice matched Stare with six rebounds and Chapman led with three steals.
- Off the bench, freshman Jazmyn Wheeler (Winfield, W. Va.) recorded five rebounds. Junior, Brynn Mullet (Berlin, Ohio) dished out a team high of four assists followed by three from Camryn Pickerill (Seaman, Ohio).
How It Happened
- The Hilltoppers scored the first bucket before the two traded points for the first four minutes. ODU then went on a 10-0 run to take an 18-11 lead with 1:12 remaining in the first. WLU responded with back-to-back layups to cut their deficit to three.
- Similar to the opening quarter, the game went back-and-forth before the Black and Gold pulled away with and eight-point swing, making it 30-22. West Liberty battled to bring it within five at the intermission.
- Out of the break, the Panthers went on a 15-6 run over the first five minutes of the third period to extend their lead to 52-38. Ohio Dominican pushed their lead to as many as 18 before the Hilltoppers cut it to 16 with a pair of free throws at the end of the period.
- Down 65-49 heading into the final 10 minutes, WLU went on an 8-0 run to make it 71-59 midway through the quarter. The Panthers remained in the lead the rest of the game, winning it 78-65.
