COLUMBUS, Ohio – On Tuesday evening, the Ohio Dominican women's basketball team started their week by hosting the Central State Marauders. The Panthers put up a tough fight but fell to the Marauders, 66-59.

- Senior Gabby Stare (Newark, Ohio), led the Panthers with 14 points. She went 4-4 from the free throw line and had three assists and three fouls. Following her was Jenna Shackleford (Newark, Ohio) with 13 points on the night. The freshman went 4-6 from the field and a perfect 5-5 from the charity stripe.
- On the rebounding end, the Black and Gold outrebounded the Maroon and Gold, 33-29. Nelia Guice (Westerville, Ohio) and Jazmyn Wheeler (Winfield, W. Va.) each grabbed six rebounds. Guice added five points including the first points for ODU.
- Guard, Brynn Mullet (Berlin, Ohio) dished out a team high of six assists and netted seven points. Fellow guard, La'Sonja Hill (Cincinnati, Ohio) had a team high of three steals and snagged six points. Macy Chapman (Hilliard, Ohio) also added six points tonight.
How It Happened
- The two opened the match going bucket-for-bucket until the Black and Gold added four in a row to go ahead five points. The Marauders kept it close, rallying with a five-point swing of their own to grab a 13-11 lead after ten minutes.
- Once again, the two traded points in the second period. The Marauders went ahead as many as 10, going 6-9 from behind the arc. Stare netted eight points to push the Panthers within six at the intermission, making it 39-33.
- In the third quarter, CSU grabbed an opening three-pointer but ODU responded with four consecutive layups and three free throws from Shackleford to take a 44-42 lead with 5:13 left. Central State battled back to take a three point lead heading into the final period.
- In the final ten minutes, the two went back-and-forth. The Marauders, once again, pushed their lead to as many as nine but late free throws from Chapman brought Ohio Dominican with seven. The Panthers dropped their opening week contest, 66-59.
