Women's Soccer Prepares For G-MAC Tournament At Northwood On Saturday

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican women's soccer team heads to the Great Midwest Athletic Conference Tournament on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers grabbed the #8 seed in the tournament and will face the #1 seeded Northwood University.

The Black and Gold ended the regular season with an overall record of 5-7-6 and a conference record of 4-6-4. The Panthers head to the post season for the first time since 2021, where they fell to Trevecca Nazarene in a penalty kick shootout in the quarterfinals.

Leading the scoring for ODU is freshman midfielder, Roisin Kennedy (Delaware, Ohio). Kennedy has three goals on the season, taking 11 total shots and nine shots on goal. Following her is junior, Devin Schoenberger (Redondo Beach, Calif.) with two goals and three assists. Schoenberger leads the team in total shots (29) and shots on goal (16).

Forwards Ryanna Buck (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) and Alex Garver (Springboro, Ohio) are the only other two players with multiple goals on the season. Both have two goals with Buck notching two assists to Garver's one. Six other Panthers have netted goals this fall.

Splitting time in the net this season has been senior keepers, Jadelyn McNerney (Springboro, Ohio) and Kaitlin Grady (Twinsburg, Ohio). McNerney has grabbed 31 saves and recorded a 1.00 GAA. Grady follows with 30 saves and a 1.23 GAA.

The top seeded Timberwolves are 13-3-2 overall and 12-1-1 in the G-MAC. NU secured the #1 spot in the tournament being Great Midwest Athletic Conference Regular Season Champions.

Leading the way for the Timbies is Juliana Paoletti with eight goals and two assists. Following her is sophomore Carly Boyd with five goals and six assists. Boyd connected with the back of the net in both match-ups this fall and had an assist in Columbus.

Freshman, Lindsay Jacob has spent the most time in between the posts, starting and appearing in all 18 games this fall. The goalkeeper has collected 76 saves, allowing only 18 goals for a 1.01 GAA in her freshman campaign. Jacob's has been a part of six shutouts with five being solo shutouts.

Since 2010, the Black and Gold are 9-5-1 against the Timberwolves. Northwood won both match-ups this season, 2-0 in Michigan, and 2-1 in Ohio. NU is currently on a five game winning streak over ODU.

Kickoff is set for 12:00 PM on Saturday afternoon at Dean Soccer Field in Midland, Michigan.
