ERIE, Pennsylvania - For the second time this Fall, the Ohio Dominican Panthers men's golf team ends an event with a medalist in Black and Gold. In the Howard "Bud" Elwell Fall Classic at Whispering Woods Golf Course, Ohio Dominican saw junior
Yadhu Urs (Castries, Saint Lucia) hold off the rest of the field.
After shooting 309 in the opening round, Ohio Dominican improved to a 296 second round as the Panthers finished fourth as a team. ODU's 36-hole score was 605.
Urs led wire-to-wire for the medalist honor, tallying a 4-under 140 for the event. He scored 1-under 71 to lead the clubhouse on day one and scored a season-low 3-under 69 on Monday. He made one eagle and led the field with 11 birdies.
Junior
Tyler Andersen (Columbiana, Ohio) gained ten strokes by the end of the second round as he was +10 (152) for the tournament. Andersen shot 82 in the first round and finished with a even-par 72 on Monday. He added four birdies and 21 birdies (a team-high).
Junior
Jeremiah Bane (Grove City, Ohio) and sophomore
Bryce Cobb (Anna, Ohio) finished in a tie for 27th place overall with composite scores of 158 (+14). Bane went from 80 in the opening round to 78 in the final round. Cobb had a 76 first round to an 82 in the last round. Cobb started the tournament with a hole-in-one on hole #2 on Sunday and tallied 21 pars (tied with Andersen).
Senior
Kai Squires (Dunstable, United Kingdom) finished one stroke behind Bane and Cobb with respective rounds of 82 and 77 on his scorecard. Squires wrote in 159 (+15) for his 36-hole total.
For the final event of the Fall, Ohio Dominican will play in the Davenport Fall Invite on Saturday (Oct. 14) and Sunday (Oct. 15).
