COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican women's soccer team played in the Homecoming nightcap against the Dragons of Tiffin University. The Panthers came back to pick up a conference point in a 1-1 draw.
Tiffin opened with the first two shots, resulting in a save for
Kaitlin Grady (Twinsburg, Ohio). A few minutes later,
Ryanne Buck (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) and
Carmen Morris (Lancaster, Ohio) added shots but missed the mark on both.
In the 34
th minute, a foul in the box resulted in a penalty kick goal for the Dragons, giving them the 1-0 advantage.
Ella Tyler (Worthington, Ohio) tried to even the match before the intermission but hit the woodwork, leaving the Panthers behind.
The Black and Gold began the second half quick with three consecutive shots in the opening minutes, resulting in saves for the Tiffin keeper. In the 62
nd minute, Buck sent a shot in the box, bouncing off the keeper to perfectly set up
Alex Garver (Springboro, Ohio) who connected with the back of the net, tying it 1-1.
Tyler and Garver each added another shot before
Jadelyn McNerney (Springboro, Ohio) recorded her first save in the 82
nd minute. McNerney added another save a minute later to leave the contest in a 1-1 draw.
