COLUMBUS, Ohio – In the bottom end of the Thursday doubleheader, the Ohio Dominican women's soccer team hosted the Timberwolves of Northwood for their second meeting of the fall. The Panthers fell to the Timberwolves, 2-1.
Northwood opened with the first shot in the opening two minutes, followed by an ODU shot from
Kate Kodger (Hilliard, Ohio) in the fourth. The Black and Gold continued with the pressure in the sixth minute after
Kailyn Ciborowski (Oregon, Ohio) fired off a shot, resulting in a save for the NU keeper.
In the 15
th minute, Northwood took a 1-0 lead over the Panthers. Ohio Dominican tried to even the score by taking four shots before the intermission but couldn't connect with the back of the net. ODU keeper
Jadelyn McNerney (Springboro, Ohio) grabbed her first save in the last minute of the half.
In the second half, the Panthers had all of the momentum, taking four shots, including two by
Celia Scott (Beavercreek, Ohio). On the fifth shot, freshman
Savannah Angell (Phoenix, Ariz.) snuck it past the keeper to level the playing field at 1-all in the 75
th minute.
Devin Schoenberger (Redondo Beach, Cali.) grabbed the assist in the process. NU eventually regained the lead in the 87
th minute to win the contest 2-1.
