Bane and Cobb Lead Panthers at Tiffin Kyle Ryman Memorial

TIFFIN, Ohio - The Ohio Dominican Panthers men's golf team battled a number of conference foes in the Kyle Ryman Memorial at Mohawk Golf & Country Club on Monday (Oct. 2) and Tuesday (Oct. 3). 

Of the 14 teams competing, only two teams were not part of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. The Panthers finished in ninth place overall with a 54-hole total of 893. ODU scored rounds of 298 and 296, respectively on day one with a 299 on day two. 

Junior Jeremiah Bane (Grove City, Ohio) and sophomore Bryce Cobb (Anna, Ohio) finished as the top Panthers in the three-round event, both tying for 15th place with a 54-hole total of 217 (+1). Bane made his Panthers debut, tallying rounds of 70, 73 and 74 with five birdies and an event-high 44 pars. Cobb, as an individual, opened the event with a career-low round of 4-under 68 before ending the event with rounds of 76 and 73. Cobb ended up with two eagles, seven birdies and 35 pars for the tournament. 

Junior Yadhu Urs (Castries, Saint Lucia) was two strokes behind Bane and Cobb with a 3-over 219, tied for 20th place. He led the team with nine birdies and made 32 pars over the course of 54 holes. With rounds of 74 and 75 on day one, Urs went 2-under 70 on Tuesday in round three with an eagle on hole #18. 

Senior Jackson Parnell (Maineville, Ohio) shot a career-low 229 for the event, +13 and in a 52nd place tie. Parnell, with the held of seven birdies and 31 pars, scored rounds of 74, 76 and 79. 

Senior Kai Squires (Dunstable, United Kingdom) bookmarked a middle round of 73 with first and third rounds of 81, equaling a 54-hole total of 235 (+19). He added four total birdies and 31 pars. 

Junior Tyler Andersen (Columbiana, Ohio) started day one with scores of 79 and 80 before going for 76 in the final round. Andersen had four birdies and 34 pars as he compiled a 54-hole total of 235 (+19). 

The Panthers will head to the northwest corner of Pennsylvania next week for the Michael Corbett Fall Classic, hosted by Gannon. The event begins in Erie on Sunday (Oct. 8).
