COLUMBUS, Ohio – On Saturday night, the Ohio Dominican women's soccer team hosted Trevecca Nazarene for their Breast Cancer Awareness game. The Panthers defeated the Trojans, 2-1.
The Trojans let off the first shot in the 13
th minute, missing off to the left side. The Panthers went on the offensive in the 17
th minute with back-to-back shots form
Alex Garber (Springboro, Ohio) and
Celia Scott (Beavercreek, Ohio). In the 24
th minute, TNU took a 1-0 lead over ODU.
Ohio Dominican answered with a score of their own not even a minute later.
Kaleigh Jaracz (Avon, Ohio) sent a cross to
Ryanne Buck (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) who sent it to the center off the net. Before the intermission, ODU took two more shots to Trevecca's one, giving
Jadelyn McNerney (Springboro, Ohio) her first save of the match and leaving it tied, 1-1.
Once again, the Trojans took the first shots in the second half, resulting in a save for ODU keeper
Kaitlin Grady (Twinsburg, Ohio). In the 57
th minute,
Devin Schoenberger (Redondo Beach, Calif.) gave the Panthers the 2-1 lead off a free kick goal. Trevecca tried for the equalizer but the Black and Gold were there with the block. In the 88
th minute,
Riley Arnold (Waynesville, Ohio) went to extend ODU's lead. TNU's keeper was there for the save, leaving the score 2-1 with Ohio Dominican in front.
