COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican women's soccer team has two games on tap for homecoming week. The Black and Gold travel to Malone University on Tuesday evening before returning home for the nightcap on Homecoming Saturday.
The Panthers move to 2-4-3 overall and 1-3-1 in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference after going 0-2 on the week with losses to Findlay, 1-0, and at Northwood, 2-0.
About Ohio Dominican
Both goalkeepers for the Panthers have appeared in every game this fall.
Jadelyn McNerney (Springboro, Ohio) leads with 16 saves and a 1.10 GAA while
Kaitlin Grady (Twinsburg, Ohio) follows with 15 saves and a 1.57 GAA.
Junior
Devin Schoenberger (Redondo Beach, Cali.) leads the way for the Black and Gold with 10 total shots and six shots on goal. Following her is
Bailey Sedlak (Bellbrook, Ohio) and
Alex Garver (Springboro, Ohio) with six total shots. The three of them each have a goal this season, Schoenberger and Garver add an assist as well.
About Malone
The Pioneers sit at 5-3 overall and 2-3 in the G-MAC. Malone most recently defeated Ursuline College, 3-2, but fell at Findlay, 3-0, on Saturday. MU sits in eighth place in the conference standings.
Gracie Ashton leads the team and the conference in total assists, 4, and assists per game, 0.50. Brynn Mowrer has netted four goals, third best in the G-MAC, and two game winners. Goalkeeper, Amelia Henderhan, is tenth in the conference with 24 saves on the year.
Ohio Dominican holds an 8-0-3 record over Malone, dating back to 2012. The two drew last season, 1-1, with ODU picking up a 1-0 win during the 2021 season.
About Tiffin
The Dragons are 1-4-3 overall and 1-3-1 in conference play. Tiffin is coming off a 0-2 week with 1-0 losses at both Walsh and Northwood. TU and ODU are currently tied for ninth in the conference standings.
Joining Ashton from Malone at the top is Emma Lennig with four total assists. Keeper, Malea Nelson, is sixth with 28 total saves on the year. Nelson averages 3.5 saves per game. Kaelyn Harkness has scored three goals on the year, leading the Dragons and ranking seventh in the conference.
Ohio Dominican is 6-5-3 against Tiffin since the 2010 season. In the last four meetings, the two are 2-2 with TU winning in 2022 and 2021 spring and ODU winning in 2021 fall and 2019. The Dragons host the Arrows of Ursuline College on Wednesday for a noon kickoff.
Game Times
The Pioneers and the Panthers kickoff at 6:00 PM on Tuesday at Pioneer Park for Malone's Breast Cancer Awareness game. On Homecoming Saturday, the Black and Gold have the nightcap with an 8:00 PM start time against Tiffin.
