COLUMBUS, Ohio – On Thursday evening, the Ohio Dominican women's soccer team hosted the Panthers of Ky. Wesleyan. The Black and Gold downed the Purple Panthers, 1-0, after 90 minutes of play.
Within the first 12 minutes, forward
Ryanne Buck (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) fired off two shots, giving the KWC keeper a save. In the 28
th minute,
Roisin Kennedy (Delaware, Ohio) connected with
Savannah Angell (Phoenix, Ariz.) to put ODU on the board.
The Black and Gold took five more shots before halftime, trying to grow their lead. Ky. Wesleyan's keeper grabbed three saves to keep their deficit to 1-0.
With the momentum, Ohio Dominican continued strong on the offensive end, firing off three shots by the 61
st minute. The Purple Panthers responded with a shot in the 70
th minute, resulting in a save for
Kaitlin Grady (Twinsburg, Ohio). KWC let off two more shots in the final minutes but missed the mark. Ohio Dominican took a 1-0 win over Ky. Wesleyan.
