Women's Soccer Hosts KWC And TNU For Breast Cancer Awareness Month

COLUMBUS, Ohio – This week, the Ohio Dominican women's soccer team has back-to-back home matches. On Thursday, ODU hosts the Panthers of Ky. Wesleyan and on Saturday they welcome the Trojans of Trevecca Nazarene for their Breast Cancer Awareness match.

The Black and Gold went 0-2 last week with a 2-1 loss to Northwood and a 1-0 loss at Ursuline, moving them to 3-6-4 overall and 2-5-2 in the G-MAC, sitting at eighth in the standings with eight points.

On Thursday, freshman Savannah Angell (Phoenix, Ariz.) grabbed her first collegiate goal late in the second half. Angell marks the tenth Panther to add a goal this season. Assisting her was Devin Schoenberger (Redondo Beach, Cali.) with her third assist of the season.

In goal, Jadelyn McNerney (Springboro, Ohio) and Kaitlin Grady (Twinsburg, Ohio) combined for four saves last week. McNerney had three with Grady adding one. McNerney now has 24 saves on the year and the sixth best GAA in the G-MAC with a 1.07. Grady has 21 saves and a .700 save percentage.

About Ky. Wesleyan
The Panthers are 2-10 overall and 2-8 in the conference after going 0-2 last week with 2-1 losses to Trevecca and Findlay. KWC is currently tied in 12th place with Malone and Tiffin with six points.

Senior Chloe Hinchcliffe leads the way with four goals on the season. Hinchcliffe has taken 21 shots, including 10 on goal. Following her is Bree Owen and Haley Osbourne with two goals each. Owen has four assists with Osborne adding two.

Three different players have seen time between the posts with Elizabeth Burns and Kassidy Elkin appearing in a majority of the games. Burns has collected 33 saves, holding a 2-5 record and a 2.56 GAA. Elkin has a 0-4 record with 29 saves and a 3.51 GAA.

Dating back to 2017, the Black and Gold is undefeated against the Purple and White, going 8-0. In their last meeting a year ago, ODU won 4-1 in Owensboro. Forwards Nyah Daniels (Norwalk, Ohio) and Ryanne Buck (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) netted goals in the win.

About Trevecca Nazarene
The Trojans have an overall mark of 5-4-4 and a conference mark of 5-1-4 after going 2-0 last week with a 2-1 win at Ky. Wesleyan and a 3-1 win over Malone. TNU is tied for fifth place in the standings with Cedarville with 19 points.

Grace Oliver and Katelyn Keogh both have three goals on the season to lead the team. Oliver adds two assists with Keogh grabbing one. Seven other plays have netted goals this season with three of them having two goals.

Sophomore keeper, Bailie Fiore has collected the fourth most saves in the G-MAC at 52 and posts the fifth best GAA at 1.04. Fiore has a 5-2-4 record between the posts, notching three shutouts on the year and a .813 save percentage.

Since 2017, the Trojans hold a 4-3-3 record over the Panthers including a 2-0 win last season in Nashville. The two haven't played in Columbus since 2019, where they drew 0-0 after two overtimes, resulting in a penalty kick shootout that ODU won to send them to the G-MAC semifinals.

Game Times
Kickoff is set for 5:00 PM on Thursday, marking the first game of the doubleheader that night. On Saturday, play will begin at 5:30 PM following the football game. Saturdays match will be Ohio Dominican's Breast Cancer Awareness match.
