Three Goals for Three Points As The Pants Down The Timbies

COLUMBUS, Ohio – On Thursday evening, the Ohio Dominican men's soccer team welcomed the Timberwolves of Northwood to Sunbury Road for their second matchup of the season. The Panthers took control in the first half and remained in the lead, ending with a 3-0 win over the Timbies.

Northwood offered the first shot in the 10th minute, but senior keeper Cory Pulles (Pickerington, Ohio) was there to collect his first save of the night. Evan French (Canal Winchester, Ohio) and Jacob Gruber (Westerville, Ohio) both fired off shots in the next few minutes, missing the mark.

In the 20th minute, sophomore Brad Leonard (Westerville, Ohio) connected with Mohamed Sheik (Columbus, Ohio) and Gruber to give the Panthers a 1-0 lead. Pulles collected six more saves before the intermission to leave the Black and Gold with the advantage.

In the second half, ODU came out strong, taking a 2-0 lead in the 50th minute off a score from Mubelele Mhango (Blantyre, Malawi), his third goal of the season. Pulles remained strong between the post, grabbing two more saves before Aiden Crowley (Springboro, Ohio) netted his first career goal in the 62nd minute to give Ohio Dominican a 3-0 lead. Mhango assisted, marking his second of the season.

Pulles snagged three more saves, bringing his total to 12 for the night, marking a new career high and registering his second clean sheet of the season.
