COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Panthers of Ohio Dominican women's basketball returns to action with a Great Midwest match-up against Tiffin on Thursday, Jan. 5, then a non-conference clash on Saturday at Salem International.
The Black and Gold sit at 5-7 overall and 2-4 in the conference while coming off a win back on Dec. 19 against GLVC opponent Indianapolis.
Opening Tip-Off
- Junior Gabby Stare (Newark, Ohio) became the 27th player in program history to collect 1,000 career points with her 29 point performance against the Greyhounds. The guard/forward combo also led the team with eight rebounds and four steals.
- Freshman Madelyn Fearon (Greenville, Ohio) went 6-6 from the charity stripe, totaling nine points and matching her career high of five assists in 38 minutes of play.
- Guards Macy Chapman (Hilliard, Ohio) and Kayla McClendon (Columbus, Ohio) each collected nine points. McClendon shot 67 percent from the field and Chapman gathered four steals.
- The Black and Gold outshot the Greyhounds 80.8 percent to 58.3 percent from the charity stripe.
About Tiffin
- The Dragons are 4-9 overall with a 1-4 mark in the Great Midwest under newly appointed head coach Josh Mason.
- Senior Savanah Richards leads the charge averaging 11.8 ppg and 5.2 rebounds per game.
- Tiffin is shooting 37.2 percent from the field and 27 percent from behind the arc.
About Salem
- The Tigers are 6-10 on the year and on a three game winning streak under first time head coach Jessica Peatross.
- Nerea Arambarri Fernandez averages 15.7 ppg with Liliani Krause and Anete Bluma each averaging over six rebounds a game.
- Salem is shooting 37.7 percent from the field and 29.7 from the three point line.
Tip-off from Alumni Hall is set for 5:30 pm between the Dragons and the Panthers on Thursday. The contest on Saturday will start at 2:00 pm from T. Edward Davis Gymnasium in West Virginia.
