Box Score COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican women's soccer team faced off against Lake Erie for the second time this month. The Panthers downed the Storm 2-1.
Makenna Greer (Pickerington, Ohio) opened the match with a shot to the bottom right, forcing the Storm keeper to pick up her first save in the 5th minute.
Junior Jadelyn McNerney (Springboro, Ohio) was challenged by Lake Erie forward Aubriana Campbell, resulting in a save for McNerney.
In the 43rd minute, Avery Rice (Lima, Ohio) laced a corner kick from the far side hitting off of a Lake Erie defender to put the Black and Gold in the lead, 1-0.
The Panthers came out of the break applying pressure on the Storm with four shots in a row in the 47th and 50th minutes. Lake Erie retaliated with a score of their own when Jilian Newlan connected with Brenna Walker in the 57th minute to tie it up 1-all.
In the 72nd minute, Senior Callan Myers (Hillsboro, Ohio) fired a shot left of the goalie to the back of the net, giving ODU the lead once more, 2-1. The Panthers outshot the Storm 15-3 in the second half.
With no response from Lake Erie, Ohio Dominican took the match, 2-1.
