Cleveland, Tenn. - The Ohio Dominican women's soccer team continued their opening weekend with another game in the Volunteer State on Saturday (Aug. 27).
The Panthers settled for a 1-1 against the Carson-Newman Eagles on the campus of Lee University.
Following a scoreless opening 45 minutes, the Eagles broke the scoreless tie in the 51st minute on a header from Nellie Bryneus. The Panthers took advantage of a late opportunity as
Ashley Story (Canfield, Ohio) scored in the 87th minute. Story stole the ball at midfield, beat the Eagle backline in a foot race, nailed the shot to the goalkeeper's right side. When the clock reached full time, Ohio Dominican salvaged a 1-1 draw on the second leg of the first weekend.
Callan Meyers (Hillsboro, Ohio), Meghan Coakley (Sylvania, Ohio) and Story all had shots in the game.
Jadelyn McNerney (Springboro, Ohio) made ten saves in goal while facing 21 total shots (11 on goal).
