COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican baseball team is set to welcome Findlay for Senior Day festivities and the finale Great Midwest series of the season.

SERIES INFO

  • The Panthers and Oilers have revised their series schedule twice, leaving the series with doubleheaders on Sunday and Monday, May 8 and 9.

  • Sunday's doubleheader will begin at 1 p.m., with ODU seniors being honored 20 minutes before first pitch.

  • Monday is scheduled for a noon start.

  • All four games will be played at Frank Damian Field in Panther Valley.

SENIORS

POSTSEASON SCENARIOS

  • The Panthers enter the final week of the regular season 2.0 games behind Findlay for the sixth and final position for the G-MAC Tournament.

  • ODU will need to win at least 3-of-4 games against Findlay this weekend, plus they will need some help from other conference series.

  • The Panthers would also need Lake Erie to take at least two games from Walsh. Malone will also need to win two-plus games against Hillsdale this weekend.

  • In the instance of the Lake Erie-Walsh series, ODU would need a split, plus a sweep over Findlay.

PANTHER NOTES

  • Daniel and Michael Knapp (Elyria, Ohio) continue to pace the Panther offense, with each batting .311.

  • The duo has also combined for 49 RBI and 53 runs scored.

  • ODU leads the G-MAC with 93 stolen bases and has five players with double-digit bags.

  • Brennen Hunt (Ashland, Ohio), David Silva (Tontogany, Ohio), and Staab all rank in the top 10 in the G-MAC in stolen bases.

  • Scott Rouse (Hinckley, Ohio) leads the starting rotation with a 3.84 ERA. Rouse is coming off an 8.0 inning outing against Malone, allowing three runs with seven strikeouts in a no-decision.

  • Derek Bolander (Oregon, Ohio) did not allow a run over three appearances last week, lowering his team-best ERA to 0.98. Bolander has six saves, matching the season total from his freshman campaign in 2021.

  • Myles Martinez (Columbus, Ohio) tossed four scoreless innings in relief to earn his team-high fourth win in a game against Malone a week ago. Martinez has 38 strikeouts over 14 appearances, and 12.1 K's per nine innings.

  • The Oilers were swept in a four-game series at Ashland last weekend.

  • UF is just 4-8 in true road games this spring.

  • ODU is 20-7 against Findlay in its Division II era, including a pair of non-conference, neutral site wins over the Oilers last spring.
