ODU Falls to Top Seeded Northwood in G-MAC Tournament Final

MASON, Ohio - A magical run by the Ohio Dominican Panthers (24-29) baseball team came to an end on Saturday (May 10) in the 2025 Great Midwest Baseball Championship Final at Prasco Park.

Ohio Dominican fell 9-3 to the top seeded Northwood Timberwolves (35-19) in the final game of the tournament.

Northwood started the game with four runs in the bottom of the first inning.

The Panthers got a run back in the top of the third inning as Jacob Adams led off with a double to right center. Two batters later, Adams scored on a RBI groundout by Drew Emerson. Northwood's lead was trimmed to 4-1.

With two runs in the fifth and three in the bottom of the sixth, the Timbies expanded the lead to 9-1.

ODU scored twice in the top of the seventh to round out the scoring. Jordan Daniels started the frame being hit by a pitch. Adams singled up the middle to put two runners in scoring position. After a pitching change, Peter Jelenic grounded out to first base, plating Daniels. A second hit by pitch put Emerson on first base. Gianni Passarelli reached on a fielder's choice that Adams crossed the plate on.

Mason Kurtz finished with a team-high three hits in the game. Adams had the other multi-hit game with two hits.

Steven Chapman got the ball in the start, going four innings with four runs allowed. Chase Hunt and Garrett Roach combined for five runs allowed in two innings of work. Jeremy Ramirez finished the contest with two scoreless innings.
