Baseball Closes Home Stand with Indianapolis Doubleheader

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican baseball team will break from Great Midwest action with a midweek home doubleheader against Indianapolis.

SERIES INFO

  • ODU (15-25) and UIndy will begin their pair of seven-inning affairs at 1 p.m., Tuesday, April 26.
  • The Panthers will cap a busy stretch, with its doubleheader against the Greyhounds marking their eighth and ninth games since Tuesday, April 19.
  • Tuesday's doubleheader will concluded a six-game home stand, and 8-of-9 games in Panther Valley for ODU.

PANTHER NOTES

  • The offense had six batters produce four hits in a weekend series against the G-MAC's second-place Ashland. Michael Knapp (Elyria, Ohio) and Zac Wilson (Hamilton, Ohio) each had four hits and went deep against the Eagles, with the latter hitting a go-ahead two-run bomb in the series finale.
  • Knapp paces the Panthers with a .326 average in his first season with the Black & Gold. The sophomore swiped four bags over the weekend as well, giving him 12 steals this spring. Knapp also leads ODU with 22 RBI and is second on the team with 27 runs scored.
  • Jake Daniel (Troy, Ohio) is hitting a career-high .313 this campaign, adding 20 RBI and 17 runs. Daniel is tied with Knapp for the most multi-hit performances this season with 11.
  • Alex Brill (Amherst, Ohio) joins the aforementioned duo with six multi-RBI efforts each to lead ODU. Brill leads the Panthers with six home runs, and is tied with David Silva (Tontogany, Ohio) for the team-high with 13 extra-base hits.
  • A trio of pitchers have three wins this spring, including Brill and Scott Rouse (Hinckley, Ohio), who each earned a victory over the weekend versus Ashland. Myles Martinez (Columbus, Ohio), who has made 13 appearances in relief, is 3-1 with one save.
  • Derek Bolander (Oregon, Ohio) earned his fourth save of the spring and 10th of his collegiate career during the Ashland series finale.
  • Bolander has a team-best 1.17 ERA, while Rouse leads the starting rotation at 3.90.

ABOUT UINDY

  • The Greyhounds enter Tuesday with a 19-20 overall record, including a 10-6 mark in Great Lakes Valley Conference play.
  • UIndy is coming off a 1-2 weekend at Davenport, a series in which they won the opener, 9-1, before falling in a Saturday doubleheader, 12-10 and 18-6.
  • The Greyhounds are 10-9 in road games this spring, as well as a 4-1 neutral site mark, a 14-10 record in games played outside of Greyhound Park.

  • The Panthers return to G-MAC play with a four-game series at Malone on Friday and Saturday, April 29 and 30.
