COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Black and Gold look to extend their win streak as they travel to Cedarville Thursday (Dec. 15) and to Lake Erie on Saturday.
The women's basketball team fell to conference newcomer Northwood last Thursday, 77-62, but bounced back and snagged their first conference win over the Chargers of Hillsdale on Saturday, 74-61. The Panthers sit at 3-6 overall and a 1-3 mark in Great Midwest play.
Opening Tip-Off
- Junior Gabby Stare (Newark, Ohio) added consecutive 20-point games over the weekend collecting 23 Thursday and 21 on Saturday. Stare is 51 points shy of 1,000 career points.
- Guard Trinity Ramos (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) combined for 26 points over the two games. Ramos led with five assists against the Chargers.
- Fellow freshman, Logan Pride (Twinsburg, Ohio) tallied 12 points and grabbed a team best nine rebounds on Saturday afternoon.
- The Panthers shot a season best 59.6 percent from the field against HC and went a perfect 10-10 from the charity stripe.
About Cedarville
- The Yellow Jackets have an overall record of 2-6 with a 1-3 record in the G-MAC.
- Three players are averaging double-figures through their eight games: Lydia Sweeney (15.9), Paige Garr (13.9), and Anne Wheeler (10.6).
- CU is shooting 41.3 percent from the field and 36.7 percent from behind the arc.
About Lake Erie
- The Storm are 4-4 overall and 1-2 in the conference before heading to Walsh on Wednesday (Dec. 14).
- Lake Erie leads the conference averaging 29.2 defensive rebounds per game.
- Senior guard, Angela Fink, is ranked first in the Great Midwest with 50 assists on the season and an average of 6.2 assists per game.
Tip-off is set for 5:30 pm on Thursday evening and 1:00 pm Saturday afternoon from the Osbourne Center.
