Box Score COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Black and Gold picked up their first conference win against the visiting Hillsdale Chargers on Saturday afternoon, 74-61.
Ohio Dominican advances to 3-6 overall with a 1-3 mark in G-MAC play.
Box Score Notes
- Off the bench, junior Gabby Stare (Newark, Ohio) led the way with 21 points on 8-13 shooting. Stare added seven rebounds.
- Freshman Trinity Ramos (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) and Logan Pride (Twinsburg, Ohio) collected double-figure points as well. Ramos tallied 15 points and five assists. Pride snagged 12 points and led with nine rebounds.
- Guard Camryn Pickerill (Seaman, Ohio) registered a season-high of eight points shooting 2-3 from behind the arc.
- Freshman guard Macy Chapman (Hilliard, Ohio) accounted for eight points in her 15 minutes of play.
How It Happened
- The Chargers struck first in the opening seconds off a layup from Sysum. The Black and Gold answered with a 9-2 run, taking the lead 16-7 with 1:43 left to play.
- Stare ended the first quarter with back-to-back buckets, giving ODU the edge 20-9 to open the second period.
- Hillsdale began the next 10 minutes with a 12-2 swing of their own, cutting their deficit to one, 22-21. ODU shot 50-percent from behind the arc to finish the period with the lead 33-27. The Panthers led at the break for only the second time this season.
- Ohio Dominican extended their lead in the third quarter to 46-31 after an explosive 13-4 point drive. A layup from Ramos ended the period with the Panthers on top 53-40 entering the final quarter.
- The Black and Gold shot 75-percent from the field and 66-percent from the three in the fourth quarter to close out the game, snagging their first conference win, 74-61, over the Chargers.
