Box Score COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Black and Gold welcomed conference newcomer Northwood to Sunbury Road. The Timberwolves defeated the Panthers for a second time this season, 1-0.
Northwood began the match with an early shot from Brooke Honeycutt in the 3rd minute, missing high. Devin Schoenberger (Redondo Beach, Cali.) fired off the first shot for the Panthers in the 8th minute but missed the mark.
In the 16th minute, Nyah Daniels (Norwalk, Ohio) let off a shot, forcing NU keeper Andrea Everett to collect her first save.
Junior Kaitlyn Grady (Twinsburg, Ohio) registered her first save of the match off a shot from Carly Boyd in the 19th minute.
The Timberwolves registered shots late but missed the mark, leaving the match scoreless at the half.
To open the second half, Grady tallied another save off a shot from Carly Boyd in the 46th minute. Schoenberger let off another shot in the 47th minute, making Everett to notch another save.
In the 60th minute, Northwood opened the scoring after Brooke Honeycutt connected with Brianna Gervers, making it 1-0.
Senior Callan Myers (Hillsboro, Ohio) tried to rally her team late with a shot in the 76th minute but missed high, leaving the Panthers behind 1-0 at the end of the contest.
