NORTH CANTON, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican men's basketball team suffered an 80-45 setback at Walsh Saturday afternoon.
The Panthers (4-11, 2-6 G-MAC) and Cavaliers (10-4, 6-2 G-MAC) were knotted at nine-all midway through the first half. Walsh though, closed the session on a 28-8 scoring run to enjoy a 37-17 lead at the intermission.
Ohio Dominican could only close its deficit to as little as 17 points in the second half. The Panthers incurred their lowest field goal percentage of the season, .302.
Zach Szul (Waterville, Ohio) netted three triples en route to a team-high 13 points. Szul also swiped four steals. Alek West (Sylvania, Ohio) added 12 points and five rebounds. Leading ODU on the glass with eight rebounds was Arius Jones (Lansing, Mich.).
Ohio Dominican is set to return to action Thursday, Jan. 20, with a 7:30 p.m. tipoff at Ashland.
