Box Score COLUMBUS, Ohio – It was a tale of two halves as the Ohio Dominican women's soccer team wrapped up its out-of-conference schedule against Saginaw Valley State University on Sunday afternoon inside of Panther Stadium.
The Cardinals began the game on the front foot, outshooting the Panthers by an 8-0 margin in the first half. The first of their scoring opportunities came in the seventh minute as Kylie Lukowski put a shot on frame that was collected by ODU sophomore goalkeeper Jadelyn McNerney (Springboro, Ohio). SVSU would unleash three more shots towards the Panther goal but none would prove troublesome as they were off target.
The visitors broke through in the 42nd minute as midfielder Stephanie Strong tallied the game's opening goal off a pass from teammate Gabby Green.
The Black and Gold began the second half looking to equalize quickly. Junior forward Callan Myers (Hillsboro, Ohio) challenged Cardinals goalkeeper Olivia Argeros in the first minute of the second half. Teammates Samantha Buck (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) and Avery Rice (Lima, Ohio) also chipped in as the Black and Gold captured the momentum and outshot the visitors by a margin of 8-3 in the second half.
Saginaw Valley got its insurance goal in the 73rd minute when Jensen Taylor scored on the break to beat McNerney to her right to give the visitors the 2-0 victory over the Panthers.
