Eight Game Road Trip Comes To An End As Softball Goes To Pepper Pike

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican softball team concludes its eight-game road trip when it heads to Pepper Pike, Ohio, to battle Ursuline College on Tuesday afternoon. The Black and Gold return to action following a doubleheader sweep against Lake Erie College on March 31. ODU enjoyed an offensive explosion knocking in 14 runs during their game one victory. The Black and Gold would call on their defense to preserve a 6-4 victory in game two.

Sophomore Braxton Downs (Prospect, Kentucky) was a driving force for the Panthers on offense. She clubbed one home run and drove in six RBIs during the doubleheader. Teammate Carson Hackerd (Frankfort, Indiana) also made the trip around the bases, getting one home run and collecting four RBIs.

SCOUTING URSULINE

The Arrows are looking to rebound following a 14-1 loss at the hands of Cedarville University on March 30. Ursuline is led on offense by Jovanna Herrera, she comes into Tuesday's contest batting .333 and has an outstanding on-base percentage of .815 this season.

Pitcher Ashlee Zientek is the workhouse in the circle for the Arrows. She leads the team with 33 innings pitched and 12 strikeouts.

Head Coach Marcella Vanlandingham is 3-1 when she leads her team into Pepper Pike and looks to improve upon that record on Tuesday afternoon. First pitch of the double header is scheduled for 2 PM from Northeast Ohio.
