Box Score PAINESVILLE, Ohio – It's been 484 days since Ohio Dominican women's soccer last played in a competitive game but on Sunday that changed. The Panthers traveled to Painesville, Ohio, to open up their season against Great Midwest Athletic Conference foe Lake Erie College. The Panthers began their season in ideal fashion, securing a 1-0 victory.
Sunday's contest also served as the long-awaited debut for head coach Reilee DuPratt. She was named head coach of the Black and Gold in May 2020 and had to wait nearly a year to coach her team, nothing was going to stop her, not even the birth of her first child.
That's right, DuPratt gave birth to her son Oliver and was medically cleared to join the team on Sunday afternoon in Painesville. Both are doing very well.
Callan Myers (Hillsboro, Ohio) registered the first shot of the day in the fourth minute, which just missed the left side of the net. She continued to harass the Storm goal, registering shots in the 12th and 19th minute.
The Black and Gold earned eight corners during the first half, thanks in part to their numerous offensive opportunities. ODU broke through in the 31st minute as Samantha Buck (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) beat the goalkeeper to the visitors a 1-0 advantage.
Freshman goalkeeper Jadelyn McNerney (Springboro, Ohio) had to wait until the final moments of the first half to make her first collegiate save. She would make four saves en route to her first clean sheet as a Panther.

ODU opens its home schedule on Thursday against Ursuline College. Kickoff is scheduled for 6 PM.
