GAME NOTES (PDF)

COLUMBUS, Ohio – After a season unlike any other, the Ohio Dominican women's basketball team begins its postseason journey on Tuesday evening, welcoming Tiffin University to Alumni Hall. The game will be a quarterfinal matchup in the 2021 Great Midwest Athletic Conference women's basketball tournament.

OPENING TIP-OFF

Each club has collected a win in the season series and Tuesday's contest will be a de facto rubber match between the two institutions. Tiffin struck first by scoring an early 65-56 win back on December 5 on their home floor. ODU retaliated with a victory of its own on January 23, winning 83-68 on Sunbury Road.

The Black and Gold return home to Alumni Hall where it has served as a fortress of sorts. The Panther women have collected 15 straight wins on Sunbury Road, with 10 of those coming during the 2020-21 season.

SCOUTING OHIO DOMINICAN

Few things are promised in this life. Death, taxes, and head coach Lynsey Warren reaching the postseason in the G-MAC. Tuesday's appearance marks the fourth time the Black and Gold have appeared in the tournament and the Panthers have not missed the event since joining the conference in the 2017-18 season.

The Panthers will look to the trio of Angela Troyer (Sugarcreek, Ohio), Kennedy Schlabach (Millersburg, Ohio), and Gabby Stare (Newark, Ohio) for offensive production. Troyer paced the Panthers with 21.0 points-per-game. Schlabach tallied 19.2 point-per-game and Stare finished the regular season 15.3 points-per-game.

Not only can Schlabach score but she averages 7.2 assist-per-game and has 144 assists which is the best in the nation.

Senior Olivia Fox (Newark, Ohio) will present a challenge for the Dragons in the paint. The senior averages 11.3 points-per-game and is one of the top rebounders, collecting nearly seven per contest. Alli Kern (Waterford, Ohio) is the queen of rebounds for the Panthers as she averages nine per contest. Her rebounding prowess has helped ODU secure several second-chance opportunities.

SCOUTING TIFFIN

Head coach Miriam Justinger has done a terrific job stepping in for former head coach Jessie Ivey and leading the Dragons to a post-season appearance. Tiffin relies heavily on players like Aarion Nichols and Savanah Richards for its offensive production. Nichols leads her team with 15.2 points-per-game, while Richards sits at second best with 14.2 points-per-game.

Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM
