Box Score OWENSBORO, Ky. – The Ohio Dominican men's basketball team met Kentucky Wesleyan for the second time in six days, this time falling on the road in Great Midwest play, 67-43.
INDIVIDUAL NUMBERS
- For the first time since Nov. 13, 2011, ODU did not have a player reach double figures in the scoring column.
- Sophomore Alek West (Sylvania, Ohio) had eight points and four rebounds. West also paced the Panthers with three assists.
- Sophomore Matt Hall (Evanston, Ill.) made all three of his field goal attempts and his only foul shot for seven points. Hall collected a team-high nine rebounds as well.
- Pitching in seven points and four rebounds was freshman Mitch Wilkinson (Grand Rapids, Mich.).
HOW IT HAPPENED
- ODU made its first field goal attempt, a West jumper, but missed its next five shots and turned the ball over five times en route to a 14-3 deficit just seven minutes in.
- The Panthers clawed back to a four point margin, 19-15, but KWC held ODU scoreless the final six minutes of the first half to take a 31-15 lead into the intermission.
- ODU could only get as close as 14 points in the second half.
UP NEXT
- Ohio Dominican stays on the road with a trip to Ohio Valley Monday, Feb. 8. The Panthers and Scots are slated for a 7:30 p.m. start.
