COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican women's basketball team returns to action this weekend with conference clashes against Trevecca Nazarene and Kentucky Wesleyan.
ODU begins its road trip in Nashville where they will look to continue its five-game overall win streak and look to go a perfect 7-0 against the Trojans. Following Thursday's game, the Black and Gold hit the road and look to get a critical season sweep against the Panthers of Kentucky Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon.
OPENING TIP-OFF
The last time out the Panthers got a tremendous performance from senior Angela Troyer (Sugarcreek, Ohio). She tallied a career-high 37 points in a 69-64 win against Walsh University. The number 37 is no stranger to the women's basketball program as freshman Gabby Stare (Newark, Ohio) scored the same amount of points during a clash with the University of Findlay on January 28.
Both players tied for the most points scored in the G-MAC this season and tied for the fifth-most points scored in a game in G-MAC history.
SCOUTING TREVECCA
Despite the calendar flipping to February, the Trojans will be playing just their fourth game of the season when they tip-off against the Panthers on Thursday. Trevecca comes into the game looking for its first win in program history against the Black and Gold.
The Trojans are led by Faith Wilken who averages 16.0 PPG. She is one of the top rebounders for her squad, knabbing 6.3 RPG.
SCOUTING KENTUCKY WESLEYAN
The Purple Panthers sit in third place in the G-MAC standings and are looking for revenge against their Columbus counterparts. Since dropping the December 17 meeting on Sunbury Road, KWC have gone 8-3 and earned marquee wins against Findlay and Walsh. Tahlia Walton leads the Panthers with 11.8 PPG and Kaylee Clifford provides support with 10.9 PPG.
