CANTON, Ohio – Four players finished the game in double figures as the Ohio Dominican women's basketball team collected an important road victory against Malone University winning 79-63 Saturday afternoon.

The Black and Gold led the contest for over 32 minutes and began the game on a 15-7 run to set the tone. ODU enjoyed production from a pair of Newark Wildcats as senior Olivia Fox (Newark, Ohio) and freshman Gabby Stare (Newark, Ohio) found the score sheet early. Fox was perfect from the field in the first quarter, while Stare was three-of-five from the field and tallied seven points. She would finish the contest with a game-high 26 points and 10 rebounds, a mark that gave the freshman her first collegiate double-double.  

Malone captured its first lead of the game as Mikayla Poole made a fast-break layup in the paint to give the Pioneers a three-point lead. A field goal from Angela Troyer (Sugarcreek, Ohio) in the final two minutes of the first half reestablished the lead for the Black and Gold just before halftime.

Stare continued to harass the Pioneers, orchestrating a 10-0 run coming out of the halftime break. She forced Malone to burn a 30-second timeout just four minutes into the second half. The Panther lead swelled to as much as 10 points during the third quarter with the freshman being near perfect from the field.

A three-point dagger from junior Kennedy Schlabach (Millersburg, Ohio) with 2:09 remaining in the fourth quarter extended the visitor's lead to 15 points and would climb to as much as 18 before the conclusion of the contest. The junior guard finished with 23 points and eight assists. ODU held strong to collect a valuable road win.

The regular season is now in the rear-view mirror as the Panthers await their fate for the Great Midwest Athletic Conference postseason tournament. Opponent, time, and ticketing information are still to be determined and will be announced soon.
