Box Score NORTH CANTON, Ohio – Junior Kennedy Schlabach (Millersburg, Ohio) enjoyed a strong shooting performance, scoring an impressive 21 first-half points but it wasn't enough as the Ohio Dominican women's basketball team fell to Walsh 74-66.
ODU began the game on a 19-4 run with baskets by Schlabach, Angela Troyer (Sugarcreek, Ohio), Olivia Fox (Newark, Ohio), and Alli Kern (Waterford, Ohio). The Black and Gold lead would swell to 24-8 at the end of the first quarter.
Schlabach tied teammate Angela Troyer for the most points scored in the first half this season with 21. She finished the opening half going 8-of-12 from the field and 5-of-8 from downtown. Despite the strong offensive prowess from the junior guard, Walsh orchestrated a run to close the gap to just six points at halftime.
Fox and Kern caught fire in the second half, combining for 11 points in the third quarter.
Unfortunately, the Black and Gold couldn't overcome a strong offensive showing from the Cavaliers during the fourth quarter and fell to their conference rival Thursday night.
