COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican women's basketball team concludes its regular-season schedule with two contests against Great Midwest Athletic Conference rivals. The Panthers hit the road and travel to Northeast Ohio where they will battle Walsh University on Thursday night in Canton. ODU completes its final regular-season road trip by heading to North Canton to battle Malone University.
OPENING TIP-OFF
The Panthers head to Northeast Ohio in search of the season sweep against Walsh and Malone. ODU defeated the Pioneers inside of Alumni Hall on January 14 by the score of 82-68. The Black and Gold then went on to defeat Walsh on February 1 by the score of 69-64 as senior Angela Troyer (Sugarcreek, Ohio) became the second player this season to score 37 points in a victory. She matched the mark set by freshman Gabby Stare (Newark, Ohio) on January 28.
SCOUTING WALSH
The Cavaliers enter Thursday's contest with a bad taste in their mouth following a Mayor's Cup defeat to Malone earlier in the week. Walsh looks to get on the right track by avenging its loss to ODU earlier this year. Mayci Sales remains one of the top-scoring threats, tallying 18.4 PPG.
SCOUTING MALONE
On the other side of town, the Pioneers are feeling very good about their win against rival Walsh. If the season ended today, Malone would find themselves in the G-MAC conference tournament but they would like to earn themselves better positioning as they sit on the bubble in the eighth position. Senior Holly Groff continues to be a bright spot for MU as she averages 16.5 PPG. A strong last weekend of the regular season likely boosts Malone firmly into the tournament while teams like Ursuline could be on the outside looking in.
