Box Score COLUMBUS, Ohio – Four members of the Ohio Dominican women's basketball team finished in double figures but it wasn't enough as the Panthers fell to #12 Indiana University of Pennsylvania on Sunday afternoon.
Guard Kennedy Schlabach (Millersburg, Ohio) was honored with a pregame celebration commemorating her achievement of becoming the 26th member of the women's basketball program to eclipse 1,000 career points.
The Panthers came out strong, converting on their first three shots from the field. Guard Bailey Williams (Dublin, Ohio) scored four of the Black and Gold's first six points. Despite the strong start, ODU found itself behind on the scoreboard at the end of the first quarter.
Schlabach caught fire in the second quarter, scoring 11 of her first half 14 points and powering the Panthers their highest-scoring period of the season. The guard did most of her damage toward the latter half of the quarter when she tallied six points in less than 90 seconds. With that offensive firepower, the teams retreated to the locker room tied at 38-38.
IUP opened the second half up on a 7-0 run that was started by guard Maria Cerro. ODU responded as the trio of Olivia Fox (Newark, Ohio), Schlabach, and Williams combined to level the score at 45-45 with 6:34 remaining in the third quarter.
A steal and basket from freshman Brynn Mullet (Berlin, Ohio) got the Panthers to within four points in the fourth period but the Black and Gold couldn't close the gap and fell 76-61 during the Sunday matinee.
