Box Score CEDARVILLE, Ohio – The Ohio Dominican women's soccer team fell by the score of 1-0 on the road at Cedarville University on Tuesday night. The Yellow Jackets enjoyed a strong start in the first half, outshooting the visitors by a count of 5-2 during the first period.
Cedarville attacker Anna Burkhard challenged goalkeeper Jadelyn McNerney (Springboro, Ohio) in the seventh minute, but the goalkeeper stood strong to collect one of her four saves on the evening. ODU answered back in the 51st minute as senior Samantha Buck (Reynoldsburg, Ohio) challenged Cedarville goalkeeper Brook Ackley to make a save on a diving shot.
CU forward Mary Kate Wyer got the hosts on the board moments earlier, converting on a corner kick opportunity to give the Yellow Jackets a 1-0 lead. The hosts looked to extend the lead as Megan McClish challenged McNerney but the second-year backstop stood strong.
The Black and Gold nearly tied the game in the final seconds of the game as Buck's dipping shot was spilled by Ackley and Bailey Sedlak (Bellbrook, Ohio) collected the rebound but it was saved by the Yellow Jacket goalkeeper to preserve the 1-0 victory.
