CEDARVILLE, Ohio – For the second time in as many days, senior Bailey Williams (Dublin, Ohio) collected a double-double and finished in double figures in scoring as the Ohio Dominican women's basketball team wrapped up play in the 2021 Midwest Region Crossover hosted by Cedarville University on Saturday afternoon.

The Black and Gold battled Lake Superior State University of the final day of competition and looked to rebound following an opening day loss to Southern Indiana.

ODU began the game on a 5-0 run thanks to a three-pointer from Kennedy Schlabach (Millersburg, Ohio) and a jump shot from Williams. The lead swelled to 7-2 as Olivia Fox (Newark, Ohio) grabbed a rebound and tallied a put-back to claim some important second-chance points.

Lake Superior State took the lead toward the end of the first quarter as Makenzie Bray tallied five of her game-high 24 points to give the Lakers a lead after the opening stanza. The host's lead swelled to as much as 14 as Margot Woughter tallied 10 points in the second quarter to give Lake Superior State a 38-32 advantage at the break.

The Black and Gold got the lead down to as little as three points in the dying moments of the fourth quarter, thanks to a flurry of three-point makes from Brynn Mullet (Berlin, Ohio) and Schlabach in the dying moments of the contest. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough as the Panthers fell to the Lakers 68-64.

ODU comes home to Sunbury Road on Tuesday night to battle Saginaw Valley State University. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 PM.
